Parliament’s budget will jump to UGX1.527 Trillion in the Financial Year 2029/30, up from UGX917.642 Billion the Financial Year 2025/26.

The institution says the increment is due to the need to cover emoluments and associated benefits such as medical insurance of MPs, committee oversight field activities, Parliament Public outreach programmes and annual East African Community Inter-Parliamentary Sports tournament.

This is according to the Parliament’s Strategic Plan for the Financial Year 2025/26 to Financial Year 2029/30 released by the institution.
