At least 7 candidates have been successfully nominated to contest for various Parliamentary positions in Napak District ahead of the forthcoming general elections, according to the District Returning officer, Angela Jolly Lokutai.

On day one of nomination at Kangole electoral office, the official nomination exercise began promptly at 9am, with NRM Flag bearer for Napak District woman member of Parliament and incumbent Hon. Faith Nakut Loru.

While addressing media, Faith pledged to maintain and sustain the current peace and security being enjoyed, intensifying the fight against poverty, water for both production and human consumption, addressing health and education issues together with government and partners and growing talent industry in the District as five areas of focus if elected back.

Hon. Stella Nomoe, running as an independent, was also successfully nominated for the same Parliamentary position, followed by Hon. Peter KenLochap flag bearer, Lomonyang Joseph (independent), Adupa Moses (independent) for Bokora East County, Hon. John Bosco Ngoya Flag bearer and Emmanuel Ilukol (independent) for Bokora County respectively. All the candidates expressed confidence in their abilities to lead their constituencies.

Meanwhile, in Kotido, Adome Bildad Moses declared his bold agenda for Kotido Municipality. Running as an independent under the symbol of the pot, Adome unveiled a hard-hitting manifesto focused on development, youth empowerment and accountable leadership.

His plans include, upgrading Municipal services, supporting education and promoting economic initiative for youth and women. Ismail Muhammad was also successfully nominated under NRM ticket for the same position, Nuria Hafsa Teko (independent) for Woman MP Kotido District against Margret Achilla Aleper who pledged to strengthen women’s SACCO’s, VSLA groups and education programs, Peter Abraham (independent) for Jie County and Gabriel Lokiru Apabeye, the NRM Flag bearer for Jie County, highlighted party unity.
