Alan Alexander Milne (January 1882 – January 1956) was an English writer best known for his books about the teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh, as well as children's poetry. Milne was primarily a playwright before the huge success of Winnie-the-Pooh overshadowed his previous work.

This is "Now We Are Six" by A.A. Milne. Published by E.P. Dutton & Co., 1927. Shows considerable spine wear and hinges are cracked. I will call the book Fair to Good. (NEW-Rm 1, Front, Case 4, Shelf 3).

Some faint rubbing/scuffing to covers and shelf wear around the edges, especially to corners. Tear to leather cover at top of spine and ribbon bookmark is missing. A. A. Milne (1882-1956) was the best selling author of the Winnie-the-Pooh series. This book of children's verses, WHEN WE WERE VERY YOUNG, represents the first appearance of the famous Pooh bear in the 38th poem entitled "Teddy Bear." The book was illustrated by Punch Cartoonist Ernest H. Shepherd. Originally published in 1925, this October 1935 edition is the 174th printing of the title.
